Mid-Summer Trail Run

Post date: Jun 10, 2014 11:54:44 AM

On Wednesday 18th June, as well as the usual evening run options, there will also be an off-road trail run for those that are interested.

The route will be run anti-clockwise starting at the very top of the Corry Road, near Upper Aultvaich and will go out as far as Loch nam Bonnach before circling Farley Wood and back to the start.

A large part of the route is on good tracks but there could also be some wet sections and there will be some unavoidable mud so don’t wear your best shoes! Trail shoes or normal trainers should be absolutely fine.

Bring some water if it’s a hot night, waterproof jacket if it’s a wet one and midge spray will definitely also be a good idea.

The trail route will be just over 5 miles which will include a few hills although nothing you can’t handle. However, for those that are looking to add about 2 miles, you can branch off near the end of the trail route, run down by Aultvaich (passed my house - teas not available, sorry) and pick up the last section of the Corry Road and back down the Teandalloch hill returning to the Square.

We will drive up the Corry Road from the Square at 6.45pm sharp with as few cars as possible so if you think you might be doing the longer option, grab a lift rather than take your car up the hill.

Depending on who turns up, the pace could be quite mixed but don’t worry as there are lots of stopping places to re-group where the views are superb.

See you at the Square and don’t be late.  MG
